Seabass is a popular fish both as fillets or cooked as a whole fish.

It can be a spiny-finned fish that would need some careful descaling and trimming before cooking. The fins can be quite sharp.

It has lean white flesh with a distinctive flavour which can be be grilled, roasted and pan-fried.
